Book Mouse is a locally-owned, independent bookstore.  We are located in the heart of old town Ottawa, Illinois across from the Roxy Movie House. 

We're open seven days a week.  Stop by and meet our resident chinchilla, Lizzie and our handsome Sonny-boy kitty.  You can browse our broad selection of books, greeting cards, magazines, local art, toys and gifts.

Book Mouse has lots of great neighbors.  While you're in town you can have a nice lunch or dinner at any of over a dozen diners and restaurants within a few blocks of the store.  Check out the antique and consignment shops all around the downtown, too.  We have two coffee houses, lots of speciality shops and, of course, the local hangout--the Roxy Cinema.

We are just 13 miles from Starved Rock State Park and a few miles from Buffalo Rock State Park.   Off of I-80 go south on IL 23 and as it nears old town, it becomes LaSalle St.  You can find us one block south of beautiful Washington Park (site of the 1st Lincoln-Douglas debate).
